Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 23, 2026
KidneyFoods.com is a free service supported in part by affiliate partnerships. This page explains, in plain English, how that works and what it means for you as a reader.
What is an affiliate link?
Some links on this site (clearly labeled with the sponsored attribute, or marked as "affiliate" or "Buy on Amazon") are affiliate links. If you click one and purchase the product, KidneyFoods may receive a small commission — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay going to the retailer directly.
Which affiliate programs do we use?
We participate in the following affiliate programs and may add more over time:
- Amazon Associates (US) — for kidney-friendly cookbooks, salt alternatives, supplements, and kitchen tools.
- Shopee Affiliate Program (regional) — for readers in Singapore, Malaysia, and Southeast Asia.
- Other reputable retailers — vetted on a case-by-case basis for products genuinely relevant to a renal diet.
Our honest-recommendation pledge
- We only link to products we would personally recommend to a CKD patient.
- We never recommend a product purely because it pays a higher commission.
- Editorial content (food data, guides, calculator) is never influenced by affiliate partnerships.
- When we have not used a product ourselves, we say so explicitly.
- Nutrition data (phosphorus / sodium / potassium) comes from USDA FoodData Central — never from a brand or sponsor.
This is not medical advice
Affiliate-linked products — including salt substitutes, vitamins, and supplements — can interact with CKD medications and lab values. Always consult your nephrologist or renal dietitian before adding any new product to your routine, regardless of where you discovered it.
How to identify affiliate links

- The link uses our cloak path
/recommends/ - The link has the
